Trogonoptera brookiana, also known as Rajah Brooke’s Birdwing, is found on the Thai-Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, Borneo, and other small islands west of Sumatra. It was named by the famous naturalist Alfred Russel Wallace in 1855 after James Brooke, the Rajah of Sarawak. Trogonoptera brookiana is the national butterfly of Malaysia.
